The Story of Kanata
From our first breath, we are warmed, protected, and comforted by blankets. Kanata Blanket is built upon these values, creating products that become treasured household possessions.
Our Roots
We began in 1993 with wool blankets, made for companies that wanted to give their people something worth keeping. We were the first in the promotional market to offer premium fleece throws, and our custom cotton tapestries followed soon after. Three decades in, we've learned the difference between a blanket that ends up in a closet and one that gets used every day.
The Mission
There's a feeling that comes with walking through your own front door at the end of a long day. Keys down. Shoes off. Everything out there can wait.
That feeling is what we make blankets for.
A good blanket doesn't ask much of you. It's folded over the arm of the couch or at the foot of the bed, waiting. It's what you reach for with your first coffee, what you pull over your knees when the rain starts, and what you think about on a hard afternoon when all you want is to be home. We believe home should be the place you love coming back to, and we've spent more than thirty years making the things that help it feel that way.
The Indigenous Artist's Collection
Blankets have long held a central place in Indigenous life across North America, and they remain part of ceremony today: at weddings, christenings, and potlatches. The Artist Series carries both traditional and contemporary designs, through licensing programs that give back to the artist, their organization, and their community.
